Bell's, How I Love TheeToday, I splurged and bought some beer from my favorite company, Bell's. It's a microbrew beer company from Kalazmazoo, Michigan. Normally, I don't care what type of beer I drink, but once in a while it's nice to have a real beer. I love Bell's beer and they cost a few more dollars than regular beer, however, it's worth it. Most 6 packs cost between $7-9.
However, they have a new marketing trick. They're making even more special microbrews. Today, I bought their limited edition 7,000 batch beer. It cost a whopping $18+ for 6 bottles, but it's worth every penny. First, it has a distinct flavor, rich and malty. It has a nice kick afterwards. Plus, the 12% alcohol content is probably one of the highest I've seen in a normal brewed beer. If you get a chance, try it!
Crazy BunsRecently, I made some chili dogs (yes, I do eat junk food). When I went out to buy my buns, I got those healthy buns made out of wheat. However, the packaging on these were a little weird.
Guess AnswerOkay, no one has said anything abou this, so I'll give you the answer. This is corn. Millions of bushels of corn. Pretty crazy, huh?
Mini-SubToday, I received my new Velodyne subwoofer. I tested out the little sub using Saving Private Ryan as one of my standard; iit did pretty well. I have to check it against other DVDs before I make a final decision, but it shows great promise in this area. I haven't check it with any decent CDs, however, I have a strong suspicion this sub is best for music. Nevertheless, look at the foot print of the SPL1000 compare to my broken JBL DPS-12. I'm willing to compromise. Also, by the way, the little guy weighs more than the big guy.
Guess This! So, does anyone know what these white cones are?
Temporarily FamousAfter my half marathon a couple of weeks ago, the photographer from the local paper captured a picture of me sleeping on the sidewalk. Hey, I just finished a half marathon and a few more miles to cool down. Plus, I had over 2 hours to kill before the awards ceremony. Give me a break. ^^; Let's just say everyone at work had something to talk about that Monday morning.
Michigan Wins!Okay, after 6 crappy games, Michigan actually came out and played a little ball. Since the game wasn't televised here in Southern Indiana, I was forced to watch "live" play calls on ESPN's game day. The game came down to 4 and 4 on the Penn State 10 with one second left, Michigan down 21 to 25; I was mashing the hell out of the button on my mouse to refresh the computer screen. I was very nervous because nothing was happening - too much time had lapsed, (Damn! Henne has gone ostrich again and stuck his head up his ass, got sacked and Michigan lost again. Damn!) However, the screen refreshed and holy penis, the score changed..Michigan won 27 - 25. I started screaming like a girl in my apartment. Oh, I love this game. I live for these moments!
Broadband UpgradeI've upgrade my hardware again. Now, I have a new D-link cable modem; the previous RCA modem was starting to reset itself all the time. I really don't know why though. I've also gone wireless. Now I can work at home all the time; yes, this means pooping and doing work. Now, that's what I call real productivity...
Say What?
Okay, just a side note. Today, at the half marathon an 82 year old man finished the race in 2:14. Call me crazy, but if I can walk straight at this age, I'll call myself lucky. So don't be a lazy ass and get out there and run or at least exercise.
19thI finished 19th today at the Evansville Half Marathon. Plus I ran a nice time 1:22:00. My body feels pretty good albeit a little soreness in my left knee. I'm sure this is the result from my ankle injury last year. I'm going to see a podiatrist to see if I'm running oddly.
Oh, I almost forgot another injury - chaffed nipples. Yes, my left nipple is sore like a mother. This is a common running injury. However, today I saw the strangest sight, a man running with a large blood stain on his shirt where his nipple was. He must have torn the damn thing off if you saw the amount blood lost on his running singlet. I cheered for him as he was approaching the 13 mile marker. However, after he passed me, I looked over to one of the volunteers and we both made this face of pain and awe.
Back to volunteers and community support, there were quite a few of people out to support the runners: your local high school band, middle school cheerleaders, small high school rock bands, a lady playing the polka on an accordian, and a man playing a harmonica in a tuxedo. There were other supporters, for example, this lady that was wearing ass-less chaps. Yes, nothing more motivating then this. Luckily, this is her good side.
Half MarathonTomorrow is the Evansville half marathon. I'm pretty excited. I'm confident that my training will pay off. Hopefully, I won't get injured while running the course.
Next, what's more pressing is, "What the hell is up with Michigan football?" The 3-3 is the worst record ever for the month of October. What? Yes, you heard right. With over 100 years of football under Michigan's belt, this year's team totally stinks. Hopefully, Coach Carr will get the team going or everyone in Ann Arbor will be going crazy (in a bad way)!
One of my new favorite desserts is ice cream covered with Fuity Pebbles and chocolate syrup. It's yummy.
Battlefield 2
Tonight, I downloaded the new patch for Battlefield 2, the game which I've spent approximately 60 hours of my life playing. It totally sucks because it's made the game easier for noobs. Yes, I said noobs. The smacktards that run around and can't shoot for shit. Before, you actually had to work to get a higher rank. Now, they give them out all the time. You can't figure out if they're good or if they suck. I've lost some respect for this game. Oh, well, XBox 360 is coming out soon. I love the girls of DOA.
